Discover the Experienced Team at SLN Law
Our accomplished business law team has been a trusted resource for numerous small business owners, offering legal guidance on various issues, from business formation to contract advice, employment law, and litigation.
Emily Smith-Lee, the founder of SLN Law, boasts a legal career spanning back to 1996. She commenced her practice at a prominent Boston law firm, representing businesses of all sizes in civil litigation matters. In 2009, Emily embarked on her entrepreneurial journey, establishing her own law firm.
Over the years, Emily has skillfully represented small business owners, both in litigation and non-litigation scenarios. Her expertise extends to business formation, trademark protection, contract creation and review, and a spectrum of other legal concerns business proprietors encounter. Emily has also successfully litigated cases in state and federal courts, including breach of contract claims, employment law disputes, intellectual property conflicts, and fiduciary duty claims.
Her accolades include annual listings in the Super Lawyers directory since 2013 and recognition as one of Massachusetts Lawyers' Weekly's 2018 Lawyers of the Year. The latter acknowledgment stems from her remarkable achievement in a landmark case before the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court, influencing a change in Massachusetts law.
In addition to her legal accomplishments, Emily authored "Rules of the Road - What You Need to Know About Employment Law in Massachusetts." She has also been featured as a guest on various podcasts, radio shows, and local cable programs, offering insights on business and employment law topics.
Jenna Ordway, with legal experience since 2013, serves as our lead estate planning attorney. She also represents clients in business formation, creating shareholder and partnership agreements, and addressing compliance issues. Jenna earned recognition as a Super Lawyers Rising Star in 2019.
Rebecca Rogers, a 2007 graduate of Boston College Law School and a former clerk for the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court, brings her expertise to the team. With previous experience at a prominent Boston law firm and a clerkship at the state's highest appeals court, Rebecca assists individuals and businesses in need of appellate representation.
Elijah (Eli) Bresley, a 2014 graduate of Seton Hall University School of Law, handles employment disputes on both the employee and management side, bringing both valuable perspectives to our client engagements. He also helps our small business law clients with employment law compliance.
