Attorney Rebecca Rogers Employment Law Cases

The following are some examples of the clients Attorney Rogers has helped resolve employment law disputes.

Severance Agreements

Attorney Rogers has helped multiple clients evaluate their severance agreements and negotiate severance packages that compensate them for the claims they are giving up.  These clients include an older worker at a large warehouse with a potential age discrimination claim.  Rebecca also helped a 70 year old administrative assistant who was fired after taking leave for surgery recover a favorable severance package.

Disability Discrimination

Rebecca has assessed claims and severance agreements for employees fired or demoted due to a disability in the workplace.  One worked for a bank and had a physical disability that the bank refused to accommodate.  Another was not allowed to use a prosthetic device to pass a required test to get a job, even though he could pass the test with the prosthetic device.

Attorney Rogers also assisted in the representation of an older gentleman with a psychiatric disability who was denied certain payments and benefits after signing a severance agreement.  Rebecca was able to overcome some significant legal defenses, which allowed us to negotiate a favorable settlement for the client.

Other Employment Law Cases

Rebecca worked with a client from India who was employed on an H1B visa in Massachusetts.  The company took several negative actions toward him, ultimately terminating him just before his permanent residency was scheduled to be allowed. He also was not paid at the rate the company had represented to the Department of Labor.  We brought claims against the company, and ultimately negotiated a substantial settlement for him after discovery.

Attorney Rogers represented an older employee of an office supply company who was first offered an early retirement package them immediately dismissed when he declined.  His performance reviews had not changed in over a decade, and younger workers were not similarly treated.  Based on Rebecca's work we were able to negotiate a settlement for him.

"Long overdue public words of gratitude for Emily and her associates' work on my behalf. They were so very respectful of me during an emotionally and financially ridden time -- and that mattered more than the positive result. May all clients have such advocates on their sides!" Donna B.
