Do I Need to Keep Certifying While my Unemployment Appeal is Pending?

Even if you have an unemployment appeal pending, you need to continue submitting the weekly certifications about your job search.  This is because if you are ultimately determined eligible on substantive grounds, you could still lose the right to collect for any week in which you did not certify.

In general, it is also a good idea to check your online DUA or PUA portal on a weekly basis.  You do not want to miss important notices that may have short deadlines associated with them.  Also, if you checked the box in your initial application to receive communications electronically, you cannot rely on receiving a written notice through the mail if you miss something in your online account.
