How Much Are Massachusetts Paid Family Leave Benefits?

Paid Family Leave benefits are calculated based on your weekly earnings, as well as the statewide average weekly wage.  The formula is as follows:
  • 80% of your prior earnings, up to half the average statewide weekly wage (the average statewide weekly wage is $1,694.24 in 2022, and 50% of that is $847.12)
  • If you earn more than $847.12 per week, 50% of those excess earnings will be added to your benefit, up to the weekly benefit cap.
  • The benefit cap in 2022 is $1,084.31 per week.  This means regardless of the calculation above, this is the highest weekly amount you can collect in 2022.
The average statewide weekly wage is recalculated each October, and the weekly cap adjusted as well.
