Attorney Rebecca Rogers Business Litigation Cases

The following are some examples of the clients Attorney Rogers has helped to resolve business disputes.

Shareholder Disputes

Attorney Rogers was a key member of the team representing the owner of a grocery store that had been passed to him by his father.  The business had been in the family for generations, and his siblings came forward after many years to claim an ownership interest in the store and other business holdings.

Attorney Rogers and the slnlaw team worked with the client to develop his claims and defenses, and after discovery were able to negotiate a resolution that secured ownership of the business he had built and his ability to pass it along to his own heirs.

Rebecca also represented the founder of a closely held corporation and his wife.  The client and his wife were forced out of the company by newer investors after raising concerns about compliance and safety in the company's operations.  Rebecca and the slnlaw team brought a civil suit for breach of fiduciary duty.  We were able to negotiate a substantial settlement for the clients.

Contract Disputes

Rebecca worked with a client who ran a non profit organization that was sued by a service provider.  Rebecca helped analyze the claims and defenses, develop a discovery strategy, and prepare for arbitration of the dispute.

Rebecca also represented a client who was a fishing boat captain in a dispute with his former employer.  The client had secured a civil judgment that was challenged on appeal.  Rebecca successfully defended the judgment on appeal, securing a substantial benefit for the client.

"Long overdue public words of gratitude for Emily and her associates' work on my behalf. They were so very respectful of me during an emotionally and financially ridden time -- and that mattered more than the positive result. May all clients have such advocates on their sides!" Donna B.
